IGN just posted this quick clip with gameplay in the new Azura map that’s part of the upcoming DLC coming on November 1st. I have yet to buy my season pass, it’ll be tough to keep playing this game with Uncharted3 coming out on the same day. Have you bought your GoW3 season pass yet?

Just announced via Major Nelson‘s blog. The Horde Command Pack game add-on for Gears of War 3 will be out as of November 1st.

Here’s a rundown of what the press release has to say.

Taking you deeper into the fight with three explosive new maps, three new playable characters, two new weapon skins, and additional achievements worth 250 Gamerscore, the Horde Command Pack also includes new fortification upgrades to help you mow down the Lambent and Locust threats in the fan-favorite Horde mode.

Three new maps:

•  Blood Drive – The Jacinto Medical Plaza was overwhelmed by evacuated citizens after the government-sanctioned Hammer Strikes, and the ensuing riots quickly turned this safe haven into a dangerous inferno. An abundance of high ground and funneled choke points make this map a returning favorite to Horde.
• Rustlung – Once the pride of the Royal Tyran Navy, the foredecks of this decommissioned battleship are now riddled with bullet holes. Any team with the fortitude to hold the exposed central torpedo bay will find that the ship’s Loader has been replaced with a battle-ready Silverback mech suit.
• Azura – This island resort was once the exclusive domain of Sera’s educated elite, but the tranquil water gardens and lush foliage have become a hotly contested combat zone. Dual snipers overlook a powerful explosive weapon, while the defensive central platform may be your last resort of retreat.

Episode 60! My how time flies when we’re having fun. Hosted by Ash, and joined by the usual suspects, we had a blast this week! During our “What We’re Playing” segment, Jen spoke of finishing Deus Ex, Space Marine and shady Kijiji deals. Fin briefly mentioned Crimson Alliance, and Racer, Shadow, Capo, Needle, and Ash only played one thing this week, Gears of War 3 baby!!

We discussed wide range of Gears topics this week. The beautiful cinematics, bitch face Lambent Zerkers, new weapons, multiplayer modes, emotional scenes that made Capo cry, and Fin’s rant about Anya’s perfect hair. We also spoke of some gaming news regarding DCUO, SWOTR, and Diablo 3, and Jen mentioned how she screwed WalMart yet again, er….her latest budget game deal.

While playing Gears of War 3 online last night, I got super excited to have unlocked the Gold Hammerburst and Gold Lancer skins.

For a second I thought it was my amazing skills and was awarded these for being so damn good, but it turns out, that it’s a launch week bonus.

With Gears of War 3 releasing on Tuesday, we discussed our plans (and snack choices!) for the launch of one of the most anticipated games this year. Racer and Bionic Capo mentioned their participation in Extra Life. And FinFan gave us his best Al Gore impression, discussing the impact of game discs and the environment.

The Dead Room Crew Episode 59

It’s finally here! The game I’ve been anxiously awaiting! Gears of War 3! On the eve of its release, I find myself remembering all the fun I had with the first two games, spending many late nights playing multiplayer, beating RAAM on Insane for the first time, and killing someone with my first grenade tag. And of the memorable moments in game, my first encounter with a Corpser, the deaths of certain COG members, and when Dom finally finds poor Maria.

I asked the some of the gaming community on Twitter today to help me reminisce, and to share with me in some of their most memorable moments, their favourite maps, and their weapon of choice from the previous games:

The Gears of War series will always hold a special place in my heart. It motivated me to buy my Xbox 360, was the first game I ever played online, and brought me together with some of my closest friends. Looking forward to what’s to come with Gears of War 3.

In case you’re in the dark, Gears of War 3 is officially released at midnight tonight. Most of the “normals” will pick it up tomorrow during the day but if you’re a hardcore fan you’ll be looking for a place that’s having a midnight launch tonight.
