When it comes to advertising and video games there have been many memorable ads in the last few years. Off the top of my head I recall the now classic Mad World commercial for Gears of War or Assassin’s Creed’s featuring Massive Attack’s Teardrop not to mention the infamous banned Xbox360 commercial.

Today Sony put forth their full length “Michael” commercial featuring a cast of characters from most of their top tier titles. I don’t know about you but it gave me chills. I just wish Uncharted 3 was here already!

With the soon to be released Assassin’s Creed Revelations I thought it would be a good idea to round up all the pre-order insentives that are available out there so we emailed our PR contact at UbiSoft Montreal to give us all the details.

Pre-ordering games has become almost a science these days with the ridiculous amount of different retailer incentives that are thrown in our faces with every major title launch. I personally don’t bother unless its something really worth it. I’m not going to pre-order a game at your shop just because it gives me a rainbow gun but that’s me. That’s why out of the list below I’d put my money on the GameStop version.

Ubisoft announced today that PlayStation 3 owners who buy Assassin’s Creed Revelations on the PlayStation 3 will get the first Assassin’s Creed for free on the same Blu-ray.

Usisoft is continuing its current tradition of giving exclusive access to PlayStation 3 to Assassin’s Creed content  (i.e.: Sony paid them). First with the exclusive multiplayer beta and now this.

The first Assassin’s Creed was critically adored for its originality and gameplay but panned for it repetitiveness in which Ubisoft later admitted but learned from it in the stellar sequels that followed.

I love the idea of giving gamers the chance to relive the first game for free and since there’s so much extra space on a Blu-ray it makes sense to use it. Although I really liked the first AC game I don’t think I’d have the patience to go through it again. I’m sure the incentive of getting two games for the price of one will help sell more copies of the PS3 version.  Will this make me buy the PlayStation version? No, first off because I kept my original Xbox copy of AC. Also, I have both a PS3 & Xbox360 at home and when a game is not console exclusive and has multiplayer I tend to always choose the Xbox version. Even a few years in I’m still not enjoying multiplayer games on the PlayStation and favour XboxLive online experience.

Assassin’s Creed® Revelations will be available on November 15, 2011.
